José Manuel López Agarrado

Born in Cádiz, Spain, in 2005. Since 2023, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Bassoon Chair with professor Gustavo Núñez. He has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

He studied at the Manuel de Falla Royal Conservatory in his hometown, at the Joaquín Villatorio Professional Conservatory in Jerez and at the Barenboim-Said Foundation with professors Lucia Molina, Mor Biron and Francisco Cerpa. Additionally, he has attended masterclasses by Marc Trenel, Hans Agreda, Álvaro Prieto, Delia Bastida, Vicenzo Menghini, Reynolds Cárdenas, and Mor Biron.

He has performed at the Eurochestries Festival in Pons, France, at the Burgos and Jerez cathedrals, at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, at the Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada, as well as under the baton of Pablo Heras Casado, Óliver Díaz, Isabel Rubio, and Nuno Coelho, among others.

In 2022 he obtained the second prize of his category at the Doble Caña Competition in Seville. Likewise, he was admitted as a member of the Youth Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville, the Jove Orquestra Comarques Gironines, and the Barenboim-Said Foundation Orchestra. He plays a Moosmann 150 Orchestra bassoon.

As a student of the School, he has performed with the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Péter Csaba, and he is currently part of the O Globo Quintet.
