Moira Petra Cauzzo

Born in Sorengo, Switzerland, in 2003. Since 2022, she studies at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía’s Telefónica Violin Chair with professor Marco Rizzi. She has been granted scholarships by Fondation Coromandel and Fundación Albéniz.

She began to play the violin at the age of three with Anna Modesti Cavadini. She also studied with professor Marco Rizzi in the junior section of the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana. She also received masterclasses by Miriam Fried, Alina Pogostkina and Krzysztof Chorzelski and Josep Puchades (chamber music), among others.

At the age of seven, she was absolute winner of the 8th Andrea Postacchini International Competition in Fermo, Italy. She has also been awarded first prize, with Honours, in the solo category, at the Swiss Youth Competition, Switzerland, and the Young Talents International Competition with Orchestra in Barlassina, Italy.

She has performed at the Sforza Castle for Fundación Monzino’s “Le mani sapienti”, and at Milan’s Torre Pirelli, accompanied by the AMA Milan Ensemble Orchestra, in Morcote (Concerti dei Restauri) and in Slovenia.

She has performed with the Italian Swiss Youth Orchestra conducted by Daniele Giorgi, with the “VI Savonov” North-Caucasian Kislovodsk Philharmonic Orchestra, Russia, as soloist, with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra and with the United Soloist Orchestra in Ascona.

As a student of the School, she has been a member of the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Juanjo Mena and Péter Csaba; the Baroque Ensemble of the School, conducted by Paul Goodwin, and of the Fundación EDP Camerata, conducted by Paul Goodwin. She has been part of the Stoneshield Quartet. She is currently a member of the Puertos del Estado Haendel Quartet.
