Sofie Leifer

Born in Copenhague, Denmark, in 2005. Since 2023, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Telefónica Violin Chair with professor Zakhar Bron. She has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

She started playing violin at the age of 4. She has studied at the Maastricht Conservatory in the Netherlands and the Interlaken Bron Academy in Switzerland, with Boris Belkin and Zakhar Bron, respectively. Additionally, she has attended masterclasses by Miriam Fried.

She has won the 14th Lublin Wieniawski-Lipinski International Competition (Poland), the International Television Contest for Young Musicians ‘Nutcracker’ (Russia), the 13th Young Virtuosos International Competition in Sofia (Bulgaria), and the 2nd RC Marbella Musical Competition, later transformed into City of Estepona Young Performers Competition (Spain).

In her orchestral side, she has performed as a soloist with Moscow Virtuosi, Big Symphony Orchestra, and Mariinsky’s Theatre Orchestra (Russia), and with the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville (Spain), under the baton of conductors like V. Spivakov and V. Fedoseev.

Additionally, she has performed at the Tchaikovsky and Svetlanovsky halls (Moscow, Berliner Philharmonie Hall, Mariinsky-2 Theatre (Saint Petersburg), Teatro de la Maestranza (Seville), and at Dubai’s concert hall.

As a student of the School, she has performed with the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra conducted by Péter Csaba, and she is currently part of the Fundación Mutua Madrileña Ensemble.
